Global Money Week Celebrations

Overview

    Global Money Week celebrations (http://www.globalmoneyweek.org) was instituted by Child & Youth Finance International, Amsterdam ( https://childfinanceinternational.org) in order to create an awareness about the need for financially including the youth. KGB has participated in GMW celebration for the first time, in 2017. This year also, we are associating with GMW Celebrations which is during 12 – 18 March, 2018. The theme for the current year celebrations is “Money Matters Matter”. We are organizing an all Kerala collage competition for school children namely KYC (all Kerala Youth Collage competition on banking).



Rules :

  • The competition is in two categories – Junior (Std V to VII) and Senior (Std VIII to X)
  • The students can participate as a two member team
  • Any number of teams could be participated from a school
  • Children of employees of Kerala Gramin Bank are not eligible to participate
  • Theme :

  • Junior: Savings for Future
  • Senior: Digital Banking – Banking Made Easy
  • Material: Paper

    Maximum size: 100 cm x 100 cm

    Prizes for each category :

  • I Prize: Rs. 10000
  • II Prize: Rs. 5000
  • III Prize: Rs. 3000
  • Two consolation prizes of Rs. 1000 each

  • Participating students need to procure the articles on their own. Bank will not provide reimbursement of any kind

    Once submitted, the artworks will become Bank’s property

    Students need to forward the entries through the Head of the Institution in the prescribed format

    Entries shall reach the following address on or before 23.02.2018

  • The team shall attach a description of the theme in a separate A4 size paper, not exceeding 100 words. The description shall be stapled or tied to the artwork.
  • The students SHALL NOT write their names or the name of the school either in the artwork or in the description. Entries which contain any kind of information about the team or the school would be DISQUALIFIED
  • The artworks may be send in tamper-proof package. The onus of submitting the entries in good condition at the address mentioned above lies with the students. Bank will not take any responsibility whatsoever on this matter
  • The winners will be decided by a panel of judges constituted by the Bank. The decision made by the panel will be final and binding.
  • All legal proceedings shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Malappuram, Kerala and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India

GMW Celebrations 2017

  • KGB has participated in the Global Money Week Celebrations – 2017.
  • The celebration has been instituted by M/s Child & Youth Finance International, Amsterdam. KGB has convened a public function in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom on 04.04.2017.
  • Honorable Minister for Tourism, Cooperation and Devaswoms Mr. Kadakampally Surendran inaugurated the event in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, Trivandrum.
  • Executive Director of Canara Bank Mrs. P V Bharathi presided over the function. K. Muraleedharan, MLA launched the “Little KGB” facebook page of the Bank intended for imparting financial literacy to children.
  • KGB has released an Ottan Thullal on financial literacy with the help of Kunjan Smaraka Samiti, Killikurissimangalam.
  • The CD of the Ottan Thullal was released by Adv V K Prashant, Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram. P V Bharathi, ED, Canara Bank launched the Selfie account app of the Bank – “DiGi KGB”.
  • Gopinath Muthukad, the popular magician and the ambassador of FI@School programme opened his account through the app in the function. Mr. Ravindra Bhandary, General Manager, Canara Bank launched the e-passbook app of the Bank. Mr. V R Raveendranath, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Kerala launched the Malayalam version of “Little KGB” app, which is intended to woo children to banking and savings through comic and adventurous stories. Thomas Lourdu Raj, Director of Postal Services, India Post released a Special Cover released by India Post to commemorate the event. Mr. Gopinath Muthukad distributed the certificates and cash prizes to the winners of Essay Writing completion conducted by the Bank.
